Scan this with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy,
1Password…), then enter the 6-digit code it shows to finish. You'll then be able to sign
in with a code instead of waiting for an email. (Your email link keeps working as the
fallback.)

Encrypt a copy…
Rebuilds the project as a
new end-to-end encrypted one: downloaded into your browser, sealed
with a fresh key, uploaded as ciphertext — the server never sees the key.
Share the new links; this original (and its history) stays until you
delete it.

Replace content from a .folio…
Choose the .folio itself — the browser
sends it zipped — or a zipped copy (.zip). Links, password,
and collaborators stay; everyone's page reloads with the new content.

Plan & storage
Monthly
Yearly — 2 months free
End-to-end encryption is on every plan, including Free.
Pro and Premium are subscriptions bought in Folio Writer for Mac or for iPhone
and iPad through the App Store — sign in to the same account there and the
storage follows. Nothing is sold on the web.

End-to-end encrypted project
The key never reaches the server. The decryption key is
the last part of your link, after # — browsers never send
that fragment with any request, so it is never transmitted and never
stored on the server. Anyone holding the full link can open the project;
the server itself cannot.
The server stores only ciphertext. Documents, the
binder, and research files are sealed in your browser with AES-256-GCM
before upload, and live co-editing runs through a blind relay that
forwards sealed bytes it cannot read.
Everything readable happens on your device. Decryption
runs client-side — in this tab or in the Mac and iOS apps. Preview and
PDF typesetting run locally in the browser, and Download rebuilds the
.folio decrypted here, so the native apps open it like any local
project.
Keep the full link safe. If the part after
# is lost, the contents can't be recovered — not even by
the server. The owner can rotate the key any time under Share.

The editor is monospaced — this sets its typeface
and size (16 px unless you change it). A font that isn't installed on
this device falls back to the system monospace. Composition mode has
its own text size and width, set from inside the mode. Everything here
is saved in this browser.

PDF and Word export need the Mac app (or pandoc) — download the
.folio and compile there. Markdown/HTML export runs right here.
